GOOGLE CELEBRATE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MICHAEL DERTOUZOS
KOLKATA: Google Doodle pays tribute to Michael Dertouzos who is a computer scientist on his 82nd birth anniversary. Michael Leonidas was a Greek professor in the deparments of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Director of the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science from 1974 to 2001.The great computer scientist was born in Athens,Greece.
The doddle has Michael Dertouzos facing away from a black board with a chalk in his hand. There also has few others pictures of computer and internet next to him. He saw us how the internet will impact the lives of everybody people and he helped to maximize the potential of computers at MIT.
Dertouzos's father was a concert pianist and an admiral in the Greek Navy.He attended the university
of Arkansas on a Fulbright Scholarship and earned a Ph.D. from MIT and joining the faculty in 1968. He co-founded Computek,Inc, a manufacturer of graphics and intelligent terminals with Marvin C. Lewis and Dr. Huber Graham.
Dertouzos believed technology was always grounded in his desire to unleash the full potential of humanity.
